2008 Wilson Cluster Chalk Art Festival
2008 CHALK ART FESTIVAL TRANSFORMS SIDEWALKS
Artists of all ages transformed the sidewalks into an outdoor splash of color, from fantastic dragons to vibrant pink bicycles at the September 7, 2008 Chalk Art Festival. Under sunny skies, the artists and admirers enjoyed live music, face painting, kids musical instrument table, and cool lemonade.
WAAC would like to thank all the Friends of WAAC that worked behind the scene to make this event happen.

What a thrill to see our Wilson cluster students, from preschool on up through high school, creating beautiful chalk pictures and music at this great community art event. Ruth Adkins, Wilson and Rieke parent and PPS School Board member
It was a great scene: People of all ages creating beautiful pictures on the sidewalk, a tight jazz combo providing a treat for the ears, while the farmer's market buzzed with
activity, all under some glorious September sunshine. One of those times when you just can't help but smile. Dan Rasmussen, Wilson parent and WAAC founding member
The music table was a hit with the kids and adults. Some were just curious about the unique instruments, while others stayed longer thoroughly immersed in music making.
Megan Hughes, private music teacher
Thanks for putting this fun event together. It is a great way for Wilson students to meet one another and to learn about each others' talents outside of academia.
Janet Kuhl-Urbach, Wilson parent of Nathan Urbach '11
Thanks for letting us draw at your festival - it was very fun and we would love to do it again. Geordie Duckler '77 and Ulysses Duckler '12
The Chalk Art Festival was a wonderful collaboration of simple pleasures. It is so nice to see families creating masterpieces on a simple slab of pavement. I also thought the clean up crew was amazing. So sad to see all of those masterpieces fade away into a pool of water. Jaci Evans, Wilson alumni parent
Great FUN had by all! Loved it!~! Deb Holmes, Wilson parent of Jesse Van Mouwerik '09
I just loved the Sidewalk Chalk Art event. The pictures were so beautiful. I hated to see them washed off. What a great way to showcase some of our Wilson Cluster artists!
Sue Brent, Wilson HS Principal
