2010 Chalk Art Festival
2010 CHALK ART FESTIVAL GIVES ARTISTS UNLIMITED PALETTE TO CREATE
Artists arrived, picked up their bucket of chalk and headed to their little corner of the sidewalk to create, to transform their vision at the 3rd Annual Chalk Art Festival on September 12, 2010. Visitors walk by stunned and amazed at the talent and the artwork taking shape right in front of them.
Throughout the event, everyone enjoyed the beautiful weather, live music, face painting and “Cake Pops”.
The Chalk Art Festival is hosted by the Wilson Area Arts Council in order celebrate the arts programs at our nine local schools in our cluster. The festival is made possible with the support from Portland Public Schools, Hillsdale Farmers Market, Paloma Clothing and Sweets Between Friends. Special thanks to Leilani from Sweets Between Friends for their generous donation. Thanks also to Taylor Griffith for giving the little ones an extra treat with her face painting booth.
At the end of the day, we left the artwork on the sidewalk for everyone to enjoy before it fades or washes away in the rain.
WAAC would like to thank all the Friends of WAAC that worked behind the scene to make this event happen.

What we heard about the Chalk Art Festival
"The Chalk Art Festival was so much fun and was a great success! It was wonderful to watch the community come together and create art! My family had a great time as did our friends who attended." Helen Griffith, Wilson parent
"We went to the Rieke picinic on Tuesday nite and the art was still there and still looked happy. The word is the kids and parents both love it!" Laurie Paul, Robert Gray parent
